SUMMER CRUISE INS, SEXY CARS, CLASSIC SONOMA- BRING DAD!
Last night was the Salute to American Graffiti Cruise In (where were you in 1962?) down in Petaluma and the celebration continues all day today...with the music, iconic re-built sets, food and fun to go with almost 400 classic cars on display. Reminds me of when I used to go to the Hot Summer Nights in Danville every year...love those painted flames. Way cool and sexy classics abound in Sonoma (I might even be one- vintage at least) - this video will give you an idea.

Some extra excitement this year as it appears they have found the original Citroen 2CV (Kurt's car) that was in the movie and it will be shown at the event.
Now you may not be able to make it to Petaluma for the big celebration today and you missed the Cruise In last night but there are a few more Classic Car events right around the corner.
Right after Memorial Day Infineon Raceway (remember the Farmhouse Wine Country blog from a couple of weeks ago-they are right across from Ram's Gate Winery) is holding the Sonoma Historical Motorsports Festival (aka The Wine Country Classic Vintage Car Races). The date is June 2nd and 3rd and it wouldn't be a Sonoma event without food and wine and the almost 400 cars on the track for this one. But seriously...some of the "vintage" race cars look like glorified go carts.

Or maybe this one is more your speed...
June 7- 10 brings another big vintage car party to Sonoma county- Peggy Sue's All-American Cruise begins with a Cruise-In party and then a poker run on the Sonoma backroads, followed by a chili & pasta cook-off. Then a "Show and Shine" car show (1900-1976), followed by live music and a Saturday night cruise through downtown Santa Rosa. Not to be missed- The Tot Rodz Pedal Car Cruz!

Father's Day (June 17th) brings us a couple of car events for Dad to enjoy. Downtown Santa Rosa has a free event so bring along your car lovin' guy - The Show & Shine Show for Father's Day. Hot rods, classics, motorcycles, and of course, being wine country- food, drink. and music.
If you can (with that car lovin' Dad again) make your way down to B.R. Cohn Winery in the Sonoma Valley the Cobra Club is having a special Father's Day Classic Car Cruise In and they will be pouring their Classic Car Wines for the event. if you work hard you can fit in both events on Father's Day.
And all that is during just this next month...summer sure brings some fun to the wine country. In case you didn't notice- one of the "woodies" above is a piece from Patrick Amiot (can you guess?) that hangs out at B.R.Cohn Winery. Remember the Farmhouse blog about the Wild and Wacky Art in Sonoma County...
