Last night was the Salute to American Graffiti Cruise In (where were you in 1962?) down in Petaluma and the celebration continues all day today...with the music, iconic re-built sets, food and fun to go with almost 400 classic cars on display. Reminds me of when I used to go to the Hot Summer Nights in Danville every year...love those painted flames. Way cool and sexy classics abound in Sonoma (I might even be one- vintage at least) - this video will give you an idea.
Some extra excitement this year as it appears they have found the original Citroen 2CV (Kurt's car) that was in the movie and it will be shown at the event.
Now you may not be able to make it to Petaluma for the big celebration today and you missed the Cruise In last night but there are a few more Classic Car events right around the corner.
Have you met her? She is well known for greeting each and every guest and following them around the property...We have bellmen to help acquaint you with the property but she obviously does not think they are totally up on all things Farmhouse. Also, supposedly an outdoor kitty but known for finding her favorite guest of the evening and inviting herself in for a pet and a cuddle. Unfortunately, she does not seem to know when she is welcome or not. And you know cats...they are attracted to those that are not true fans.
September has certainly been a couple of weeks of "love is in the air" in the Russian River Valley- not to mention our perfect Sonoma County weather. We have had some gorgeous brides lately (okay, okay- the grooms were pretty distinguished themselves). Our "tiny" weddings / elopements have been very popular. The August and September ceremonies were all just the two people. Somehow, when it is just the couple it is all about them...no family dynamics to be concerned with and no one else's opinions count- just the bride and groom and only what they want! Intimate, private, and mega romantic!
Here in Sonoma County it does seem like all we do is eat and drink...and then... eat and drink some more. Today at Farmhouse we had Inside Luxury Travel from the UK here to film for a Culinary Travel Show featuring the California Wine Country that will be beamed into over 500 million homes world wide. Pretty exciting stuff but we won't see the finished product until next fall sometime. Managed to snap a quick shot of our Catherine and the presenter, Varun Sharma though.
Just way too many things going on in the wine country this week...sonomacounty.com does a great job with their event calendar. Take a look for more nifty stuff there. So put on your running shoes this weekend and explore all the wonders of Sonoma County.
How to keep this short and sweet...there is so much going on this week for Earth Day in Sonoma Wine Country! You had a hint of it last week but let me tell you - we had some things happen at Farmhouse this week that blew our socks off!!
