Biking in Wine Country: Sonoma's Backroads

Explore Sonoma on two wheels...

Sonoma and Biking

Sonoma County has become a hot spot for both the beginning bicyclist as well as the competitive set.  From Levi's Gran Fondo in the fall to the Vineman triathlon events in July, Sonoma County's backroads are some of the best for bikers of all experience.

For the beginner we recommend doing a guided tour with Dave from Adventures in Cycling.  Dave has been riding Sonoma's backroads for over a decade and does custom tours for guests.  You can chat with Dave before you arrive about your level of experience, how long you'd like to ride and which parts of Sonoma County you'd like to see while you're out. Dave will also do day rides of up to 60 miles for the more experienced rider.

Sonoma isn't a popular biking destination for nothing- our backroads take visitors through amazing valleys, over rivers and directly to some of California's best wine destinations.  Our bike season is almost year round with mostly moderate weather and roads that stay dry for the majority of the year.

Sonoma's most popular bike routes are easily accesible from the Farmhouse. A very popular "Pinot" loop takes you from Farmhouse and up Westside Road with stops at several Farmhouse Winery Partners. Another popular bike loop in the Russian River is the Joe Rodota Trail. If you want to head out of the Russian River than we'd suggest the Dry Creek or Alexander Valley Loop.

If you'd like to book a tour with Dave or rent bikes to use at your leisure please contact your Concierge.  Bicycles can be delivered to Farmhouse for a fee.
