Farmhouse Wine Director Geoff Kruth has announced an exciting new format for the 2014 Farmhouse Clash of the Sommeliers wine dinner series: Winemakers versus Sommeliers. Two top Sommeliers from the Bay Area will compete with two of Sonoma's most widely-recognized winemakers in pairing wines with four course menus featuring unique seasonal ingredients, with celebrity judges and guests alike voting live in the dining room during each evening.
We're only doing 2 dinners this year so be sure to call us soon for your tickets.
The two dinners will each feature the winemaker and sommelier pairing wines side-by-side for a four course, seasonal menu, prepared by Farmhouse Executive Chef Steve Litke and Sous Chef Neil Corsten.
Each competitor will be given a generous budget allowing them to pair four wines with Chef Litke’s menus. The wine choices have no limitations- competitors are free in terms of variety, vintage and origin. Diners will have the opportunity to taste diverse wines, one from each competitor, with each of the four courses, a unique experience and insight into how the sommeliers and winemakers approach a single culinary form.
At the end of their meal the judges and guests will vote on their favorite pairings for each course. Each evening will have a winner.
The price per ticket is $215, all inclusive. Reservations are required, limited and may be made by calling 707-887-3300 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Reservations have a 7 day cancellation policy and are non-refundable within 7 days of the event.
