A Day in Downtown Forestville

December 02, 2019

At the Farmhouse Inn, the rustic charm of small-town Americana doesn’t end at the edge of our resort. Indeed, the three blocks of “downtown” Forestville, which stretch along Front Street, combine the bygone splendor of a Norman Rockwell painting with the quirky Sonoma County flair that makes our region of California one of the most popular luxury vacation destinations in the world.

Start the morning off right with a delicious pastry and robust cup of fresh, aromatic coffee from Sunshine Organic Coffee Roasters and Espresso Bar. Afterward, you can stroll over to Ideal Hardware, where the shelves abound with those top-notch home goods of yesteryear, proving that, yes, in fact, they do still make them like they used to. Pop into Lucky Mojo Curio Co., where you can peruse a stunning variety of magical incense, candles, herbs, mojo bags, spell kits, and more, from traditions as varied as African-American hoodoo, Druidic lore, and Middle Eastern mysticism. Sample the sumptuous homemade pies, syrups, sauces, and jams from Kozlowski Farms. And if at all possible, set aside some time to tour Gerald Huth Fine Arts Studio, where the only thing more striking than the eclectic art collection is the breathtaking view of redwoods and fruit trees.
