Snoopy, Charlie, and Charles M. Schulz Welcome You

January 07, 2019

“The only thing I ever wanted to be was a cartoonist,” said the legendary creator of Peanuts. “That’s my life. Drawing.” Though it’s been nearly two decades since his passing, Charles M. Schulz’s Linus, Lucy, Snoopy, and Charlie Brown continue to inspire the young and young-at-heart all across the nation and the world. Here at the Farmhouse Inn, we feel especially close to Schulz and his legacy, not only because we grew up with Charlie and the gang, but also because of the spectacular Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center located in the nearby town of Santa Rosa, just a short 15-minute drive from our hotel. The museum boasts extensive collections not only of Schulz’s own work, but also works by internationally-acclaimed artists inspired by Schulz’s creations. Step into a replica of Schulz’s personal art studio, marvel at Yoshiteru Otani’s massive wood sculptures charting the evolution of Snoopy through the decades, and browse rare Peanuts strips displayed and contextualized at this outstanding cartoon-lovers museum.
