Season of Love

Wow, can it really be February 1st? The first day of one of my favorite months of the year! And to wake up to a Google Alert telling me that Travel + Leisure just ranked us #20 in their Top 50 Romantic Hotels in the World. Yikes- but I get where they are coming from. Our guest feedback is painting that picture, too. Yeah, February’s all about romance around here, and this year I’m particularly excited about that… But it’s also the month we kick off our killer winemaker dinner series, get ready to reopen FARMSTAND, my great-grandmother’s camellias are in full bloom and the vineyards fill with mustard flowers and chamomile. We’re still smack in the middle of winter, so it’s all about cozy, but our gardens and farms know spring is around the corner.

For those of you who haven’t visited Sonoma this time of year, I can’t urge you strongly enough to just come. Really just come visit. Now. The wineries are still quieter, so we can set you up with amazing one-on-one experiences, the menus are all about wild mushrooms, truffles and comfort and there are some amazing packages to be experienced. Here’s the link to our package and add-on page. It’s all about getting you here to fall in love all over again, make new friends, pamper yourself and each other, you get the drift. We are also celebrating all the incredible accolades we’ve gotten, just in the last month. Michelin gave us our One Star for year 13 (lucky 13!) Condé Nast ranked us the #3 hotel in all the US and Canada (thank you very much) and the reviews we’ve been getting from happy guests has been staggering.

As you probably know, one of the things that makes Farmhouse unique is our commitment to guest experience. Right? My brother and I are 5th generation Russian River Valley natives. We know everyone (you know what I mean) and we want our guests to get out, have amazing encounters and make new friends.

It’s why we host our nightly wine hour (which features one of our friends pouring their wines for our guests) and why we’ve developed a curated list of our favorite local wineries and winery experiences. Our winemaker dinner series highlights different wineries each year. They are a deeper dive into the winemaker’s cellar and ideology. And our chef, Steve Litke’s response to those wines in the dishes he creates to pair with them. The dinners always offer some fun surprises and are a great chance to sit down to an amazing meal with a cool group of people. I attend everyone that I can. This year we’ve included Petrichor, Medlock Ames, Wren Hop and Reeve. Book a couple of nights, come for the Winemaker Dinner, have a great breakfast here, spend all day in the spa, experience Wine Hour and then come back for dinner from our regular menu. Oh, then do s’mores by the fire pit. Well, that’s what I would do if I were you. But our concierge team is here to help you figure out your exact perfect experience here. And you can tell me all about it at Wine Hour!
